What is radon mitigation?

Radon mitigation reduces radon inside a building. A common method draws gas from beneath the foundation and vents it outdoors through a pipe and fan system. The right approach depends on the foundation and the source of radon.

When should I reduce radon in my home?

The EPA recommends fixing a home when its radon level is 4 pCi/L or higher, and considering reduction between 2 and 4 pCi/L. There is no known safe level of radon exposure. Follow testing guidance when interpreting your result. Read EPA guidance.

How can I check a Pennsylvania radon company?

Use the Pennsylvania DEP Radon Services Directory and match the provider and service to the current certification. DEP notes that certification status can change and recommends checking a current DEP ID card or certificate.
